Reginsmal

Reginsmal This is the Reginsmal, a text from the Poetic Edda about Reginn telling Sigurd, his foster son, about wealth, usurped from his father after his brother Fafnir killed him. Reginn was deprrived of from his share of the wealth by Fafnir, who is now gaurding the hoarde in the form a serpent. Here Reginn instructs and helps Sigurd to prepare for his battle against Fafnir (to be described in the subsequent Fafnismal). I have translated most of this with the aid of CHatGPT and wiktionary and online dictionaries for Old Norse, with the actual Sanskrit part being mhy own genius. However, at this time, I am also trying to learn Old Norse and the first intoductory paragraph was my own direct translation without any AI involved.     Text sigurdo hyaltrekasya sthalaṃ gatvā svasmai ghoṭakam ekam āvavāra, yo grāṇī ity āhutaḥ tadā. tato hyaltrekaṃ hraidmārasūnum āgato, regina āsīt. sa vai prati-narāt kauśalavattaro vāmanaś ca vṛddhau. asau viduḥ, krūro, bahvaindrajālaś c...
